Well, I know we still have 'IT'.

We kept our word and went and watched every sunset during our stay.

We always went to Jimmys (on our trusty scooter - zipping through the lanes...wife grabbing me tighter and tighter...and she wondered why I was going faster and faster?)...where we met Father and Son John and Nick from Victoria...music mad...went to Expressos and watched a local live band...Eagles, Corrs, Led Zepplin, Stones, Guns n Roses even Daddy Cools Eagle Rock...we had a blast...she who must be obeyed never got up until 1pm the next day!

Watched the baby Turtles get released each day (1,000 plus on Saturday alone...).

Owner Jimmy and his sidekicks Gede and Made were always good fun at the bar...then (as often happens) on the last day we are saying our goodbyes...Made (early 20's, heavily tattooed...but one hell of a nice guy) advises he is engaged to a girl in Baldivis, WA.

Baldivis? I reply, that is near my work - I work at the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana Beach running the Drag Racing events there. Made says he likes Drag Racing and he loved the Jet Dragsters especially the one that crashed last year.

?!?!?!?!? - huh, did you see that on TV or something I respond...

To which Made who has been serving me for the past two weeks at Jimmys Bar replies...(yeah, I know - you have guessed it) "I always go to the Motorplex when I am in Perth!"

Well you could have blown me down with a feather...here I was at his workplace on Kuta Beach...finding out that he had been to my place of work in Perth!

Anyway...my wife and I sat on the 'balcony' at Jimmys (that is down the front facing the Sunset)...and my wife shed a tear (or two!)...yes we still have 'IT'...and we are already planning our next trip.

While we had plenty of great food...we ended up falling in love with Gongs Corner (in the skinny little lane between Poppies I and II just up from Kuta Townhouses).

I thought something had to be wrong with prices as low as 7,000 (74c for godsake) for an unreal Tomato and Cucumber salad, 12,000 ($1.25!) for a Crispy fried chicken in sweet and sour sauce with rice and vegies, 25,000 ($2.61)for a large Bintang.

There was nothing wrong...infact it was unreal! So good I went for seconds - Bali Chicken Bambuli (spicy fried chicken, rice and veges).

And so good infact we went there again for lunch (last meal)on our last day(The missues had Tomato and Cucumber AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!)...small and reminded me of what Bali used to be like...small Warungs down a little lane that are hidden gems...Gong Corner...give it a go!

So many more memories...but we will be back as soon as we can!

...until next time....
