If anyone has stayed at Greenfields in Ubud they will remember the cloth bags at reception. You put your valuables in a cloth bag, lock it (just an ordinary lock and key) and keep the key. The bag is then (I presume as you do not see it done) put in the hotel safe. I looked at it the first time but still did lock all my valubales in that bag. I have since stayed at Greenfields numerous times and not had any problems.
