The cheaper shopping district is Bukit Bintang ( the monorail has a stop near here if your hotel is not nearby). I think KLCC is more upmarket, depends what you 're after - good to see both : )
Shopping complexes nearby the BB stop are: Bukit Bintang Plaza, Sungei Wang Plaza, Lot 10. All multi storey with level upon level of all different types of shops!
