We tried to book via the Internet in Bali to Sumbawa but it kept rejecting my credit card, ended up ringing them and they said don't accept aus credit cards, so we sent a friend to the Bali airport and they purchased them but they were cheaper than Internet price?
Not sure about other airlines but if you are trying with Merpati could be the problem.
