Amed. It is one hour maximum, where as Padang Bai is 1.20 Minimum
all depending on the weather and swells.
Take Quells one hour before the trip and you should be fine.
From Amed can be dearer as there are only two boats from here and several companies from the other ports. Still cheap.
Flying now is to the new International airport at Kuta on Nusa Lombok
and then a two and a half hour drive to the port opposite Gili, where you can catch a fast boat, ferry type smaller boat or a speed boat if you can arrange with a kilometer or so crossing in calmer water.
