Three close to Waterbom range in stars and price. Tried for prices early September
eg Kuta Station is about 3 star newish, at $71 USD a night
Bali Garden Hotel is only about 3.5 star but internet price is $151 USD. Has excellent pool and area close to Kuta Beach.
Febris/green garden (group hotels). are only about a 3 star and did not appear to have any vacancies but last time I looked was about $70 a night.
You don't live in a hotel 24 hours so it depends on whet you wish to do in non sleeping hours.
I am only a newbie to bali compared with others and soon for 15th trip have stayed that area, poppies area and down Padma St end. My opinion ia and I will get crucified on BTF but I like the area between Poppies 2 and Padma. More shopping and variety.
