There is only one answer to the question of real or fake if they are in Bali, clearly they will be fake.

Whilst the skill to copy all sorts of consumer goods is remarkable, the old adage still is true, if it too good to be true it probably is.

I have also recently been researching the cost of Dr Dre's both here and overseas including the duty free shops at Dubai, Milan and London as we were on holiday in March.

Whilst Dubai has the cheapest shopping of anywhere i have been in terms of high end items (think Gucci, Bulgari etc)the cheapest I found a set of Beats which retail in Oz for $299 was duty free in London at $230 (on sale).

Contrast this pricing to say a pair of Gucci sunglasses that retail in the duty free in Melbourne for $600 for which you can get in the shopping centres of Dubai for $350.

I suspect that Dr Dre's are like Apple products and that there pricing doesn't vary greatly anywhere in the world.

In the late 80's I met a tennis pro in Bali who bought a heap of Prince raquets (including 1 for me) as he was convinced they were the real deal, i was disappointed when mine bent and snapped in half, only to reveal that it was made of cast metal, but it looked fantastic.

I can only imagine how much of a goose he felt when all of his went the same way!
