Following on from my last HNR where (due to an issue with Jimmys Bar/Bintang) I 'misplaced' my scooter key...
a) We had to get a new key cut...50,000 which all considering is not too bad.
b) My wife now forbids me to carry (be responsible for)anything.
Sheesh...
Anywhoo found some nice places Warung 96 (wifes pizza was very good), Chasers (nice Soto Ayam)both in Poppies II made my mandatory visit to Minis on Jalan Legian...great fried chicken in special sauce (ours was chili), Cap Cay and a to die for Deep Fried noodle goreng...
Went with driver (wife feared I would lose the scooter!) to Denpasar yesterday for fabric shopping expedition in Jalan Sulewesi for quilting friend.
Went to Majus (as instructed) and selected THIRTY NINE different farics...2 mtrs of each...at 22,000 per mtr Rp1.7m. I sat with another patient husband from Chicago as our wives caught up on life like long lost friends...
Sticking true to our word with a sunset visit to Jimmys every day to meet new friends and old friends...yesterday they released 300 plus Turtles which was nice.
Every morning I quietly leave the room (you do not want to wake the sleeping wife god forbid) for a good hour walk...this morning a 6 am start saw me go down Poppies II to the beach...through the gate at Hard Rock and left along the beach to Dynasty...throgh Dynasty (marvelled at the changes...took the kids there in 2004) back up past Waterbom, Kuta Square then left onto Jalan Pantai where they are doing up the footpath on the Southern side...as only the Balinese do.
Great new idea...big concrete footings...big rectangular thick concrete lids...that already are no better than a wooden footbridge over a South American river...and it is not finished...
Did it worry me?
No...I thought...typical Bali...the more it changes...the more it stays the same...
And we wouldnt have it any other way...tilnext time...
