If you know that your sim card can pick up a signal at home then you can do it at home yourself,I use Mentari (which I believe is the same company as simpati,my phone shows indosat on the screen when it is turned on) and we get a sgnal in Perth without a problem though you can only send txt and not make calls.

You can get credits put on from RP 10,000 and 20,000-25000-50,000
100,00 and 200,000 and in general the more you put on the longer the credit expiry time will be from 7 days up to maybe 4 months.
! month ago i bought a re-charge card and topped my sim from Thailand and currently have another top up card at home with me for when it needs topping up again.
it normally costs between RP 2,000 to 10 or maybe Rp 20,000 extra above the actual amount of credit you buy.
