Hi Moreno, Thank you so much, i hoped i wasn't being too boring with all my waffling on :)
Next instalment is on its way tomorrow, trying to organise my 2000 photos lol and i'm not kidding :)
I wasn't overly keen on travelling to Ubud. My friends son was sick so i was happy to stay at the Villa and keep him company (with a massage of course) but he wouldn't have a bar of it so reluctantly i got into the car. I am so happy i did. I found the markets holders to be very friendly and not as pushy as Kuta (yet my friend said that 7 years ago it was much different). There was beaded items such as shoes and baskets. Lots of clothing, pottery, tin items (elephants etc), bags... everything crafty. I loved the table runners and thought everything was just that little bit better quality. I loved talking to the stall holders, they were very friendly. I'm sure you can buy everything i saw in the Kuta, Legian, Seminyak area but not in one place. There was just a nice feel to it and i didn't feel like i had to bargain heavily to get a good price (i found that i am a hopeless barterer lol).
Don't forget the monkey forest. Take a friend and hope that you can get a good laugh like i did, they love beaded shoes lol
It took us 2 hours from Seminyak on a Saturday which was VERY busy. I would love to stay a few days next time, so many gorgeous shops that we didn't get to. I did stop in at a little jewellery store on our way down to the Monkey forest and found a gorgeous pendant on a leather necklace, i love it and haven't found another one like it :)
Mr 14 eventually recoved, he was really sick for 1 day, then tired and unwell for another 2 days, he hardly ate for 4 days. You are right, nothing worse than a sick child but i have never met a child who just soldiered on and never whinged (even as he was throwing up beside the road). Poor kid, my heart went out to him but boy is he stubborn lol. Gotta love the kid.
Thank you for taking the time to read my JBR. First one so i'm pleased that i have added something good to the forum. Keep an eye out for my next one.
