a lot of Expats ext rent multiple villa's live in one and rent the others.
nothing illegal about doing that in Indo. check trip advisor to see any posts. All villa's you have to register guests to the police if they don't do that then i would be worried.
I am looking at renting 3 and using 2 as an income and live in other part time.
