Stay with your driver. The shops in Tagalalang are very spread out. Drive along the road to Kintimani, looking for places to stop at on the way back. Depending on the time of day stop at Kampung Cafe for lunch either on the way to Kintimani or on the way back.
It's a good idea to stop in at a restaurant in Kintimani & buy a drink to see the fab views & avoid the worst of the indescribably hassly hawkers.
Heading towards Kintimani Kampung Cafe is on the right, down a steep driveway probably about 2/3 of the way to Kintimani - tell your driver you want to stop there & he'll suss it out. It's before the big touristy viewing area.
A few weeks ago my friends & I bought up big on Xmas decorations, of all things. Trees which fold flat, coloured wooden stars etc. These would sell very well at markets in Oz before Xmas. A friend also bought 5 doors (eventually, several days later).
Your driver should stop wherever you want. It's not a busy road. Our driver was a big help with shopping. Let me know if you need his name.
BTW almost at Kintimani there are fresh fruit stalls.
I am thrilled & stunned that I have been of help to you. Anything else, just ask & selamat jalan.
