The game you are talking about is League. I have difficulty putting the word Rugby in front of League and in my fair country that is the name it is known by. ( Even though it's a very minor sport here with only one reasonable team in the whole country we still seem to do OK when it counts - don't we.)
That fine game invented at Rugby School is so superior we won't even discuss the merits of it's working class offshoot.
