We have also been to Bali about the same amount of times and I believe that Lembongan is a definate stop if you keen for snorkling or surfing. At least a 3 night stay so you get two full days. We went in late Sept and were hoping to wing it and accomadation was packed so we didnt risk travelling over there on boat. We then travelled to Bali in May and there was plenty of accomodation and we eventually stayed at Mainski (great bar and restuarant. stayed for 400 rup a night). It is not that cheap to get a boat over there so maybe for Octoober which is considered a busy period might be smart to book before you leave (depending on where you want to stay) - as there is plenty of accomodation there.
