Booked Hidden Garden Villa's in Legian for a trip in May with my cousin, her 14 year old daughter and another girlfriend. This trip was just to shop - and wind down after a really stressful 12 months that I had been through.
I booked the villa through the internet - not much on BTF about Hidden Garden Villa's but we decided to book and thank goodness we did. The villa we stayed in was number 3. Probably the oldest and more run down of the villa's but reminded me of staying in a beach house - everything was there but it just wasn't brand new. It was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and we lacked for nothing at all. Would I stay in this villa again - in a heartbeat.
It was three bedrooms - one downstairs right next to the indoor pool. Two upstairs which shared the one bathroom. Another bathroom downstairs for that bedroom.
Their was also a deck on the top level that was inclosed but had a movable roof so you could let the sun in or out depending on what you wanted. We spent alot of time on this little deck in the mornings and the afternoons. It was a lovely space and looked out over Legian.
Kitchen, dining and lounge room all good. Tv was great with many english channels and also a DVD player. Bag of ice in the freezer for when we arrived and also drinks in the fridge which you needed to pay for - but were most realistic in price.
The villa's are situated in a lane way that was very close to everything. No taxi would drive down the lane as it was very tight but it was just a short stroll so no problem there.
HGV's have five villa's in total - the fifth being built while we were there. I did have a look at one of the other villa's and it was more upmarket than ours and had three bedrooms each with it's own bathroom and outdoor pool. While it was gorgeous - I really enjoyed our villa as the living area was enclosed so if we wanted to - we could close it up, put the air on and just totally relax. The other villa I looked at had an open living area so you wouldn't be able to do that - but you could in your own bedroom.
Only downside for me was not having a telly in each bedroom. I did know that before I went so I took a portable DVD player with me and just watched movies when I wanted some quiet time.
I have posted Fred & Made's contact details below. We met both of them over our stay and they were extremely hospitable. We had security staff posted outside our villa door 24 hours a day. As four women travelling on our own we felt very safe and secure.
If your after accommodation that doesn't cost a fortune, want a bit more room than staying in a hotel, then you really need to give these hosts a call. I have lots of photo's of the villa we stayed in and would be happy to share. The villa would easily accommodate people with kids or you could share with friends. I won't go back to hotel accommodation after this trip - it worked out loads cheaper to stay this way and much nicer. We had our own pool and could swim whenever we wanted - didn't have to put up with lounge hogs or worry about what we might pick up in the pool.
If you have any questions, please post them and I will do my best to answer. I love Bali, been many, many times and this trip was great.
Give Hidden Garden Villa's a go - you won't be disappointed.
cheers to all
