My faves are:- Un's in the Gang between Poppies 1 & Jl Pantai at the Jl Legian end - Carousel of Pasta, Snapper with potato scales & yummy frozen mango margaritas - very good value. Be sure to have a Creme Catalan .. or 2.

Kuta Night Markets for good, fresh cheap fish etc not overcooked - near the Chinese Temple. Good fruit & juice bar.

Warung Murah at the beach end of Jl 66 for good, cheap Indonesian food.

Pearl in Jl 66 for superb French food in a lovely setting - expensive but worth it. The mixed entree platter & mixed dessert plate are wonderful as is everything else we tasted. Limited menu & an attentive & cute young French chef.

Ultimo in Seminyak for lobster & avocado appetiser, duck ravioli, anything saltimbocca and the to-die-for white chocolate creme brulee. Reasonable prices for wine.

Ku De Ta for brekky (but not on Sunday - family day). The big brekky for Rp120K is excellent value.

PotatoHead for lunch - great, good value salads. Small beer Rp40K.

Balcony was always a fave, too, but last week it was vile twice - fish so tough it was like an overdone steak. Creme caramel that would've bounced off the floor if it could've been separated from the gluey gluggy "sauce".

Drops in Jl Padma is pretty good. Ditto Nero's near the Memorial on Jl Legian.

Lannai on the beach at the end of Jl 66 is consistently good to very good.

Selamat makaan
