Part Two - Batu Belig

Saturday we packed up and headed back south to 'The White House' a gorgeous 2 bd private villa in Batu Belig. This house that I found on the internet - officially called Villa Koi, was fabulous! Again, 2 storey, 2 beds, 2 baths, private pool - think it worked out at about $AUD105 per night. Gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, could not fault it. Settled in and then headed into Kuta to Stadium Bar as Baloo wanted to watch the Bombers / Tigers game. Sadly a loss to the Bombers, but well fed and 20 Bintangs between us later we headed home to Batu Belig. About 40k in a Blue Bird, 20 minutes.

Sunday morning we headed down to Potato Head for breakfast. Prices on a par with Ku De Ta but stunning venue. Off to Alta Moda for some fabrics for suits and winter coats. Swimming and lounging and then wandered around the corner to a local warung for a cheap and cheerful dinner.

Monday morning and breakfast at Cozy Beach, on Batu Belig Beach. Now this is how Monday mornings should be. Strolled down to 'Luxury Tailors' in Jl Batu Belig and arranged for a pair of knee high black suede wedge boots (1.215m rp) and 2 winter coats, and suits for each of the boys. McEvil and I popped into Dr Ida for a little 'holiday refresher' aka Botox whilst Baloo went over the road to B-male, B-Female salon for a cut throat razor removal of his full beard, rendering him almost unrecognisable! That night we ate at Bunana Warung in Jalan Raya Kerobokan that does amazing teh tarik and roti cania served with curry. We had been craving this since our last trip and love this little hole in the wall treasure. We stuffed ourselves with sweet and savoury rotis and Bintangs and cost about 150k in total for the 3 of us.

Seeing as our trip revolves mainly around eating, lying by the pool and shopping the rest of the week is highlighted by where we ate. Tuesday, breakfast at Grocer and Grind - always great. Dinner at Nutmegs at Hu'u on Jl Pettinget opposite Living Room. OMG! Awesome and I think very reasonably priced for the quality of food and venue. Baloo and I shared the Babi (something, cant remember) which is basically a pork feast for 2. So good! Wednesday, back to Grocer & Grind for breakfast, a few hours in the spa in Jl Batu Belig for a facial, mani and hair cream mask. All for less than 150k. Dinner that night at Naughty Nuri's which was about 300m walk from our villa where we met some other friends W & N who were here as well. Thursday, another Cozy Beach breakfast, lazy day by the pool, reading, tanning, relaxing. By now I was up to about my 10th book on my Kindle which I bought especially for this trip. I love to read, but books take up valuable luggage real estate and then what do you do when you finish them? I don't want to dump them so enter the Kindle! Awesome, and with wi-fi in our villa as soon as I finished one book I could download another instantly. That night we went for dinner at McEvil's cousins villa. J & T were staying at Villa Kubu - very nice and the villas had a service where they would come in a cook you a bbq in your villa. And what a feast it was! So much food and absolutely delish!

Back to Cozy Beach for breakfast on Friday, sad in the knowledge that this would be our last night in the White House. Back to the Tailor for fittings etc. More lazing by the pool and then Mykonos delivered to the villa thanks to Hallo! Early night, because Saturday was McEvil's birthday and we had a BIG surprise planned for him...
