Would not suggest a day trip. The first fast boats arrive between 10.30 and 11 and the last boat service to leave the island is 3pm.
My friends did it and flew back with garuda on the evening flight from lombok they would never do it again.
Some other friends (party of 15) hired a private boat mahi mahi departed at 6am arrived the gili's at 8am and departed at 4 to go back to bali.
They enjoyed it as they could go to the other islands, snorkel, fish etc etc but was not cheap $1000 AUD for the day 70 bucks each
