Tegalalang is a very long strip of shops spread widely apart - no way you could walk it. Starts about 6ks out of Ubud & extends almost to Kintimani. Hard to describe exactly what type of things are available - friend bought 5 carved, painted doors. I bought a wooden Xmas tree & decorations. There are all sorts of things. Often different stuff from on the coastal tourist strip.
A good idea is to drive along up to Kintimani, noting places that appeal then drive back stopping at shops. Be sure to have lunch at Kampung Cafe - stunning views & good food.
