Be aware that at least most full-fare airlines as per 1st of June 2011 have introduced changed regulations about the size and weight of suitcases going into the hold of the aircraft.
Rules about maximum size and weight for hand luggage have been in place for some time - now everything is checked for weight and size.
It may thus be a good idea to check some airline websites ahead of buying a new suitcase.It is always up to the passenger to be updated ahead of taking a flight.
