Went to the former Animale warehouse at 12 Sunset yesterday - now Sook/Io & Co. Had a big sale which goes until end July - up to 70% off. The sale things (inc bags, shoes, belts, jewellery) are outside & the near-empty inside area is new designs at full price (underwhelmed but stunned by prices). Wasn't impressed but it depends on individual tastes & preferences. I think the Kuta Animale Factory Outlet has a far better range (BTW that shop seems to have stock from the former Legian F O as well).
I guess if you happen to be in the area it's worth a visit but I certainly wouldn't make a special trip there.
Re; Grand Kumala - while the building work seems to be progressing quickly, it's a HUGE hotel & probably there is well over 6 months work to be done, if not longer.
Re: Rice Fields Walk - perhaps the Herbal Walk would be better for those of us who could be fitter - friend did it the other day & is raving about it still. That said, though my 2 friends coped with the "stairs" at the end of the rice field walk better than me. They were also able to do a walk around the village & tackle the numerous stairs to the ancient temple.
My friends most impressed with quality & price of jackets & a skirt from Tommy Leather. I had a ring made at Mayang & very pleased.
