to Australia.
Hi was getting confused from the posts regarding duty free alcohol from Bali airport to Australia. Have asked jetstar over facebook and this is there response:
Jetstar Australia
Hi Belinda and Lucy. Thanks for your question.
According to Australian Customs duty free concession, if you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring 2.25 litres of alcohol duty-free into Australia with you. However, please note that airport authorities have the right to deny you taking certain items out of the country, and this is something controlled by custom officials at the airport you're departing from, and not the airlines. Jetstar did receive some reports a few months ago of a few passengers saying that they were not allowed to take alcohol out of Bali. We can't confirm if and when authorities at Denpasar are doing this, but if they chose to do so, unfortunately airlines must adhere to the request of international customs, and we (and other airlines) don't have a say in the matter.
Hopefully airport custom authorities at Denpasar will allow you to take the full duty free concession amount of 2.25 litres each. We suggest you buy it duty free and keep your receipt in case they ask for proof of where you purchased it. Also, try and avoid temptation and make sure the bottle is completely sealed and in your checked luggage when going through customs :-)
You can read more info here www.customs.gov.au/site/page4728.asp.
Thanks for flying with us and hope you enjoy Bali! Thanks - Jetstar
I asked about having it as carry on and another friend questioned what they were doing about the corruption, their response was:
Hi @Belinda. Yes, you are advised to take it on as carry-on luggage, not as checked luggage.
@Lucy. All Airlines must follow and adhere to the advice of airport customs and authorities. We'll pass your feedback on to management and if you do experience any problems, please let us know.
Thanks - Jetstar
What is other peoples experiences with this? Will let you know how we go in a few weeks time.
thanks
