I looked after a patient the other day coming in to our ED for daily dressings on the most botched apronectomy(removal of excessive skin after massive weight loss)I have ever seen. Disgusting infection to wound now and her belly button looks like a cats arse! She has a scar from hip to hip now. She had all this done in Thailand (Phuket) because she said it would have cost her $15000 here in Aus and $4000 in tHAILAND. I twill now cost $1000's to get the infection cleared up and she will be lucky if she doesnt need more surgery now. It has put me off ever considering surgery in these sub stadard facilities.
