in the case of my brother it was adequate, the only requirement for cover is that he paid for his flights (both ways) with his gold card (we have NAB platinum cover which has the same stipulation)
They were really good and although it can seem like a bit if an inconvenience at the time - answering questions and filling out forms etc, it was definately worth it....It really put my brothers mind at ease that everything was being taken care of financially.
