Sorry Helen, but I wouldn't advise it either. I think once I was able to get in for a quick dive, but not easy. Even saw a big shark swim thru a wave one day.The beach beyond Gajah is much nicer, but even so, not comfy swimming out far.
Best to find somewhere with a pool I think.
