5 oldish girls departing Bali on Monday night............if you saw us running and screaming i'd like to share we made it.
We left the hotel at 6.45 pm for our 10.30 flight back to Perth as per our Itinerary that we had been checking all week. ON the drive our wonderful driver who we have been using for 5 years said so what time is yur flight exactly. Out came the ticket for the first time in 10 days and to our dismay we discovered our flight was at 8.05pm. It was now about 7.10pm. Our driver pulled out all stops whilst making phone calls to confirm this fact and got us to the airport at 7.20pm.
Of course 5 girls had lots of heavy luggage and as we all know just to get in we had to show our passort and get backs xrayed.The first girl showed passport we were running and said we together we late and no more passports we needed. Then to be xrayed...........well we all no that can't be rushed and there others in front of us. Eventually through we ran madly yelling to someone to point us in the direction of Garuda checkin.
2 staff just sitting there and they assured us that whilst they were calling our flight for boarding it was not too late.
Then we had the issue of our luggage...........of course it was over. WE were trying to pay them but knew we had to go to other counter. We didn't have time...........then he said to us he was prepared to forget the luggage if we gave him something but to keep it quiet.
As we were desperate we of course gathered money to give him up stairs....Not sure how many people he was going to share it with but we got on our flight and arrived home.
The moral of the story is to always check your ticket and not just your itinerary............we had several itineraries the latest printed from travel agent on Jan 5th and they all had the incorrect time on it. We had just enough time before boarding the plane to get messages through to our pickups with the change of time .
THis episode offset our 4 relaxing hours at the Melasti Spa pampering reading to arrive home!!!
