We did online and like a previous poster said they still do exactly the same checks on passport, ID, bag tagging etc, maybe a little less typing on their computer but we still had to wait for them to print off "their" boarding pass so god knows why you have to bother printing one off at home. So no it is not a 'bag drop n run' line but I still would do it again as I quite like to know for myself that I have sort of confirmed or booked in. Air Asia were great to fly with, I would prepurchase their comfort pack in future but other than that such a short Perth to bali trip it is a breeze.
