.. to get there you drive past Pacung Indah which is a delightful stop for brekky or morning tea (45 mins from Kuta). Then past the Ghost Palace to Candi Kuning Markets (pashminas, spices - vanilla pods, peppercorns etc - fresh fruit) & Cracker's lovely loos.
Beautiful drive around Lakes Bratan (the food bowl of Bali)driving through a natural monkey forest. The views are nothing short of spectacular. On to Munduk. Puri Alam hotel is a great place for just lunch (yummy, cheap local food) but worth at least an overnight stay - nothing fancy apart from the magnificent, ever-changing views from the large balconies. Great place to chill with a drinkie or 3 & just LOOK. Ranks with Nepal for views. Can do walks if feeling energetic. It's delightfully cool up there.
