Provided the Dr approves, it should be fine if your friend is breast feeding. Newborns are easy to carry in a sling, don't have to worry about strollers or food.

She should take sterilising solution from home with a container to use. The baby will need lots of water apart from Mum's milk. I always boiled bottled water - kettles are cheap & easy to find.

Don't know what they're called but a portable, light weight quilted carry thingy that can be used as a change mat is useful - especially when at restaurants. Take some mozzie netting & spray it with repellent before using.

Paw Paw ointment is good for nappy rashes. She should probably take nappies from home. Plenty of info here on sunscreen & mozzie repellents suitable for tiny tots, but she should consult her Dr.

Something I used heaps when I took my 4 month old was a water spray - helped keep him cool.

Main things are to keep baby hydrated & protected from sun & mozzies.
