LAGs security regulations stop you taking drinks from outside the airport through to the 'airside'. They will be confiscated.
You definitely can take drinks on the plane though, if you have bought them after you pass through immigration etc.
I don't know about other Australian airports, but in Sydney there are plenty of places you can buy drinks airside to take onto the plane - I do it every trip.
Coming home from Bali is a different story as there is nowhere to buy anything at all after you pass through the LAGs checkpoint.
