stepping on the offerings, sometimes its just unavoidable, you wont upset anyone, Balinese will just look at your face of worry and calm you with a smile that say's "it's okay, the essence of the offering is already gone". Balinese believe the essence of the offering is taken immediately by the gods or demons (the ones on the ground are for the demons, ones up high are for the gods)and whats left over are just that "leftovers". Just don't go out of your way to step on them.
