added your good experience with BIMC surgeons because the last thing I want is to scare people from making a life saving decision and not trusting the doctors abilities in Bali. You are right with your statement about pressure by the insurance company to get back onto aussie soil. It was a hard decision for my son and his GF to make, he wanted to get outta there and she could see how she nearly lost him . she wanted to have the op at BIMC and he wanted to get home because the insurance company had said they wanted him home OR in Jakarta.That the doctors dont have the required experience and the risk of having an anesthetic there was high and the risk of permanent disability and infection if they stuff it up! so as a mother,I put my trust in what they were saying.
Thats when we thought if they are willing to put him on a plane we may as well risk getting him home. His Insurer wanted him to be treated at SOS and out of BIMC, but the one in bali didnt have an operating theatre so Jakarta or Perth was the next option. When i spoke to them they made it clear that their faith in Bali hospitals and operations wasnt strong. I dont know ,when your in that state of mind you just cant work out who really has your best interest at heart!
