Seminyak/Legian Villa questions

First time to Bali and I've looked at all the 4-5 star hotels at length, but think maybe a villa might be the way to go. I'm after a 2 bedroom single level villa in Seminyak/Legian with pool fencing, room for kids to run around with a bit of shade, and a pretty decent standard of service and accommodation. We're prepared to pay up to $400/night (incl tax).

Villa Surati and Uma Sapna are unavailable on the dates we want and I'm not having much luck finding other villas with pool fencing. So I'm currently tossing up between Serene Villas, Heliconia Villas and The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa. Serene and The Villas both offer childproof pool fencing and I'm waiting to hear back from the Heliconia.

I'd appreciate any feedback on the 3 listed above and/or any others that might be suitable. I'm particularly interested in hearing about service standards and room/linen quality (Trip Advisor is positive for all of them, which makes it hard to differentiate). Also, if anyone can recommend the best 2 bedroom villa at the Serene (Acacia, Hibiscus or Frangipani?) that would be great.

I also have a question about mozzies at villas. We are a family of mozzie magnets and I'm wondering whether the outdoor living areas and the open air en-suites are going to lose their appeal very quickly, even if we apply liberal repellant. Are we likely to get bitten to death while showering and going to the loo in the night?
