Cannot remember exactly how long, but in my opinion, NOT an idea for a day trip. Way too much driving just to go snorkelling. I agree with GaryD - I felt very safe snorkelling there. This is the only place in Bali where I have been snorkelling.
Not knowing where you are based, I am sure there are plenty of places you could go.
