Tipping in Bali is not expected, like it

It is totally upto you what you do, I like to reward exceptional good service, with a tip.

Me personally , it varies from person to person, as a rough guide, I like to:

Porters - 10 - 30k
Drivers - 20 - 50k
Housekeeping - I leave 60k on my last night (for less that 1 week).
Restaurants - If I enjoyed the meal and am happy with the service, say the bill came to 83,500, I would not want any change of 100k.
Bar staff - most definately a tip for good service and amount of entertainment of around 20 - 50k.
Massage - if good 10 - 30k
Haircut - if happy - round to biggest note.

I always, regardless of statisfation leave any coins behind.

I prefer to give more to the people who have less.
