Beware if visiting this attraction if you use a wheelchair or are travelling with a friend who uses a wheelchair. My friend & I paid $85US to get into the park to experience this new, world class (standard) facility that is supposed to be accessible only to find I couldn't access the park because the transit & safari bus is only accessible to smaller chairs, walkers, or those stable enough & strong enough to throw caution to the wing & throw their body about to get into their vehicle.
So after only being able to penetrate 20 metres into the park, & after negotiated for a solution for 45 minutes we decided to leave quietly & go & lick our wounds. NO REFUNDS! They couldn't provide the goods & services they sold us then refused to return the money. Sounds like stealing yes? After 24 years in a chair & after travelling in Asia & Europe, I've never encountered this.
In short after staring down the management & repeatedly asking for the head man to face me, 30 minutes later we got the money back & quietly left as intended.
Truly bizarre!
Not many things in Bali are accessible & I accept that cheerfully & willingly hence I still visit enthusiastically scouring the country for new places to see & understand. Via cooperation & mutual respect solutions are often found & the Balinese are just fantastic in this way.
Anyhow - Bali Safari & Marine Park's BEWARE - GOOD FOR SOME, WORSE FOR OTHERS. You make your own mind up!
