Just got back from 16 nights in Bali. We only booked our first seven nights and last two nights and rode scooters around in between booking a hotel as we went with no problems. Stayed at
Seminyak Suites (5 nights)- have stayed here twice before and we love this small boutique hotel. Know the staff well now and the area and it feels like coming home. Rooms are nice, spacious, clean and pool is lovely. Close to Ku De Ta as well as famous Eat Street and Petitenget....
Pondok Pisces, Balian Beach on the West coast (2 nights) discovered this on Facebook and booked as it looked nice and quite and it was...took us 2 hours to ride there on busy highways but it was a lovely oasis to find....Our room had ocean views and it was very quaint....lovely friendly staff....good food at Tom's Cafe. We really relaxed here as there is no shops and no hawkers.....wandered down the end of the road and spent most of our time at Ponkok Pitaya (surfers hotel) in their pool.....overlooking the ocean.
Masa Inn, Kuta (2 nights) rode back to Kuta to visit some relatives staying here so stayed 2 nights with them. Masa Inn was ok but not really worth the price we paid. Location is good for shopping and exploring Kuta if that is what you want to do....bit too busy for me.
Bali Shangrila Beach Club, Candi Dasa (1 night) rode from Kuta to CAndi Dasa and after looking at a budget place not to our liking looked at Shangrila and decided to blow our budget. Very nice little hotel on the beach, Friendly, lovely pool, our room was a deluxe and couldnt fault it. Everything supplied, loved it. We were tired so stayed here for dinner and the restaurant was nice. Right outside our room - family feel at this hotel.
Apa Kabar, Amed (1 night) Found Amed was very close to Candi Dasa but as it was raining by now stopped for the night. Looked at a few hotels here but decided on Apa Kabar for best price for us and it was lovely. Had a nice room (few mossies) as open bathroom and I got bitten alive that night, nice restaurant, friendly staff. Would recommend.
Aditya Hotel, Lovina (1 night) this was not as far to ride as we expected and this was the second hotel we looked at and liked it. We were really hot and tired so didn't want to look any further. WE got an ocean view room which was massive in size and very nice. Restaurant here was excellent with staff at your beck and call. Nice pool too. Massages from beach ladies in the hotel bale - very good.
Cinta Inn, Ubud (2 nights) wanted to have 4 nights here but we had used other 2 in Kuta which was not planned. LOVED this place, its only new and behind Cinta Bar and Grill in Monkey Forest Road which is one of our favourite restaurants. We are friendly with the staff here now so decided to check out the Inn. Over our budget but once again the ride from Lovina had been the hottest and longest so far and once we saw the beautiful room we could no go past it. This was luxury and we will definately stay here again. The bed, doona and pillows were the best weve ever had in Bali and we had great sleeps.
Villa Di Sawah, Kerobokan (2 nights) this villa belongs to our friend who only recently purchased it. It was so beautiful, we have never stayed in a villa before and loved the experience. My friend surprised us by being there and that added to our experience as she knew the area and staff etc., I ended up cancelling my flight due to ear problems and stayed two more nights with her here and loved every minute of it. Staying in a villa is so different to hotels and both have advantages and disadvantages but we enjoyed the feel of being in a home here.
any questions please ask.....
