Mic, no doubt we will differ on this forever, but if not used as an abbreviation of rhyming slang what is meant when calling someone a "drop kick"?
How does this term, when used in isolation, mean anything other than it's original sporting one?
I would also like to point out that a true aficionado of rhyming slang never uses the rhyming section of the saying.
For example to punch someone on the chin can be described as a hit on the "Vera", never as a hit on the "Vera Lynn".
To ignore this proves that the user of the expression is not a genuine devotee.
