it is widely rumoured that the information on immigration cards is regularly 'sold' to these timeshare people. i have had many clients complain about this to me, saying that a western person (I am the ONLY western person in my company here in Bali, and its definitely not me) called them and tried to pressure them into buying tours, to attend a presentation or whatever.
these people also use my company name, because we are very visible on the island, and they take a punt that they are our guests.
for those arriving in to Bali, remember that your guide may call you during your stay, but they should not pressure you into anything. they will not call you late at night, nor should they call you early in the morning (unless prior arranged).
these timeshare people regularly call late at night or very early in the morning so that they can catch you in your room.
timeshare is a waste of money, and the only one who benefits out of it is the person who sells it to you (from their commission) and RCI who make a lot of money on fees.
