Hi Sue, I live in Bali and have given birth here and about to give birth again in the next 6 weeks.

There are a few hospitals that specialise in preganancy. The newest hospital in Bali is called "Bali Royal" and it is located in Renon (Denpasar). There is also Kasih Ibu in Denpasar. I gave birth at Puri Bunda, which is past Sanur on the bypass going towards Ubud, this hospital is a pregnancy and birthing hospital only, fantastic her I loved it. (This time I am going to the new Bali Royal very modern and I'm looking forward to giving birth here).

I can recommend a specialist for check ups which I go to he is very good and has all the latest equipment such as 4D and 3D ultrasound. The doctors name is Dr. I Nyoman Hariyasa Sanjaya. (Obstetrician and Gynecologist) His clinic is called "Kasih Medika" located at Jl. Diponegoro 150 Pertokoan Diponegoro IDT Blok B, No. 5 Denpasar Bali.
Ph: +62 - 361 231628.

I'm sure she would have consulted her doctor about travelling at a late stage in her pregnancy...

I travelled from Bali to Thailand for a visa run on a previous pregnancy of mine and I was 28 weeks, a doctor certificate was required by Air Asia from 26 weeks...And I had a little trouble at the airport in Bangkok when I was on my return to Bali they were wanting me to go to a Thai doctor to get another certificate as I had stayed in Thailand for more than 7 days and apparently my certificate was no longer valid after 7 days. I end up just telling them that I was 25 weeks as they were not going to let me on the plane without a certificate.

I will add that my doctor did not advise me to travel from 30 weeks onward as it can be risky with blood pressure due to the altitude when your high up in the air. I'm sure her doctor will advise best though.

All the best!
