confirm that the hotel you mention isn't beachfront but the gate you describe opens on to the Gang running to the beach and the receptiomn is opposite the Chinese shop Houses on Padma Utara.
If it's beachfront the property on the other side of the Gang from the Niksoma is not a hotel but a private house leased by an American.
If it's on The Kuta side of the Niksoma it is, as stated by dccc, the old Maharta.
