I witnessed a simular experience, a young Japinese woman while posing for a photo on some steps had a monkey on two steps above her decided to try to touch its tail, she reached out and it turned to try to bite her, she recoiled and screamed, but was her own fault.
I never had any problems with them. The tiny babys clinging to their mothers are the cutiest!
