Today I had a conversation with a woman that called herself an Expat that volunteered and lived in Ubud, I enquired as to what visa she was on to 'volunteer', and she said a tourist one that she renews every month for about 2 mil. I couldn't help myself so said, oh, so you are here illegally? She said ,oh no, then went on to say how many 'Expats' live in Ubud and do the same thing. I don't use the term Expat to describe myself either, but many do.
