GPs are only human. They make mistakes. Most of them no nothing about travelling, especially the unnecessary vaccinations he would inflict on an infant (read my other post). In our family alone we have lost 2 precious fathers to GP error (even though we tried to tell GPs they were wrong whilst dads were alive) and nearly lost two others to serious illnesses as they entered organ failure (again, misdiagnosed). Don't put all your faith in people who got fantastic grades with an expectation from parents to become GPs or they just wanted the illusive prestige. It does NOT make them good at diagnosing or preventing illness! The rate of encountering a dodgy GP is the same as a encountering a dodgy MECHANIC.
