Long time since I have posted so will just give a brief outline of the highlights.
We did Balinese Cooking and Balinese Batik Through Balinese Cultural Connections which was recommended on here. A little more expensive than the usual Bali activities but well worth every cent. We contacted Wiwiek via email once we arrived in Bali. She got back to us very promply. It was I think 700 for both course which ran approx 2 hours each. We were picked up at our hotel and greeted by Wiwiek who showed us around the grounds. There were only myself and my daughter but I think if you do it in a bigger group you would get it cheaper. The site is wwwdotbalineseculturalcreationdotcom and I just used the information on there to contact her.
We tried to stick to things we have not done before so my daughter and I did horse riding along the beach and had an absolute blast. I had not ridden for about 20 years but got the hang of it quickly. Each rider had their own guide who helped with the horse and one of the woman who was my age (50) managed to do the whole ride with some instruction and had a great time.
We did a Bali Hai Sunset cruise and even the daughter loved it. The mini cabaret show was excellent especially the Balinese body builders and the transvestite singer.
We have eaten at Gosha's, Bali Bagus, Made's Warung Sem, Tropical and posers again, just to name a few.
Have enjoyed talking to the locals and getting massages and shopping.
There are other things also but try not to get on to internet too much while we are here.
Only a few days left but thanks to all those that have suggested things to do and places to go. Hope you enjoyed the read.
