OK...SBH I stayed there about 4 years ago. This was where my wife fell in love with Sanur...best holiday of her life etc. However consider the "Y" wing a bit run down - needs a good facelift. cost a bit high for what you get. Great location between main road and sea, good pools etc.
For the past 3 years (4 visits) we have stayed at Sanur Beach Villas (the Bloodyron's place that you refer to) and just prefer all there.
Good money exchange...head for town road from SBH(is it Jl Tambingan there?), turn right ...you pass Trophy pub (50 metres), Mago, (another 30) then there is an alley to right. Travel shop on corner, then Money exchange, shoe shop then DVD shop. The money exchange is the best I've found, honest and straight. A few further up road try to fool you with dodgy rates, well below advertised, try to confuse you with "you give me 20K and I'll give you 50K" etc. Or just lie like "no commission" but at last minute they remember Government tax of 10%. Other alt is to take an ATM card.
Restaurants..to many to comment. South you have (Beach side) Bamboo, Kesuma, Bobby's, Donalds, Stiff Chilli, Town side Sari Bundo (along JL Sudamaja), Cat & Fiddle, Little India and 20 more. North try Bonsai, Sanur Beach cafe, plus along entire length of strip 100 more.
