with me last time I went a few months ago.
Quarantine went over them with a fine tooth comb as they said that the hats were usually always full of bugs and they were forever confiscating them.
I had placed my hats into a large plastic bag and sprayed them with insect spray and then tied the bags so anything crawling through the hats would die.
This worked very well. I also took the hats out of the bag and banged any dead bugs out of them before I repacked them into another plastic bag to bring home.
A lot of mucking about I know, but it paid off for us.
