Yes, I love the Ida, having stayed here about 5 or 6 times now. It is budget, but the location is ideal for shoppers (also not far to the beach), breakfast(adequate) is included, the staff are friendly, and we usually are allocated a pool view room. I like the bungalow rooms, which are a bit smaller than the other standard ones, but it's great having a patio overlooking the pool. They have recently renovated & upgraded a few garden rooms to Deluxe standard, about $US75 per night I think.
The showers are hot & cold water, but the basin has only cold - not a problem in the humid Bali weather though. The rooms are airconditioned, with tv (but only local content), have a mini fridge, and chairs, table & a drying rack on the patio.
The restaurant is open quite late, and the food is very good and reasonably priced. There are loungers around the pool(also a spa pool and massage tables), and the area adjacent to this is grassed.
Apart from school leavers time, I find that it is mainly "older" people who stay here, and lots of returnee guests.
Since the new AirAsia Tune Hotel opened next door, the laneway is now paved and the road lighting much improved. At the end of the lane is a very good & cheap laundry called Ranita, plus a small convenience store has opened for business. Also, it isn't far to the Matahari for one's supplies.Herlitz Spa & Beauty Salon is also closeby, as is a telecommunications store selling Bali Sim Cards.
