First trip to Bali in 1998. Latest trip Oct 2010.

Sanur - didnt notice much had changed - THANK GOD! for that. In that period, saw a few of my fav pubs changed and now no longer exist :( a whole lot of new and different pubs and restaurants have opened up for the better.

Nothing that seriously impacts on the essence and charm of this wonderful part of Bali.

Bemos still running look pretty much the same. New upmarket shops opened, a whole lot of spas, new restaurants including a maccas. Ground floor of Hardies doesnt have all the handicrafts in the supermarket section - has moved upstairs.

Ubud - noticed the biggest changes here. The markets had expanded where there used to be nothing and the street to the left of facing the entrance to MF was a boring walk to Hanoman, now it is brimming with activity with plenty to look at on the walk up.

Dont know about the "otherside", only ever spend two days there.

Sanur is the perfect place to relax, do nothing much and chill out, hope you like it as much as I do and I am very interested to read your JBR.
