exchange rate just below 9000 and weather showers with occasional tropical downpour.
Traffic is easing back with a lot more "DK" plates around and less "off island" plates as domestics return after hols.
Went up to Umalas yesterday to book a venue for 60 or so people at a restaurant that will close its doors for us.
Also made reservation at adjacent villa to avoid having to come back to Kuta after celebrations.
Kerobokan, Canguu and Umalas is a hive of villa building, all pushing the rice field view aspect, but the way it's going it will be "Rent a villa with a view of another villa ??!!"
Every place we went into had either Australian or (predominantly) European owners.
Local reports state that there is a target of 7.7 million visitors for 2011, showing growth of above the 8.5% previously achieved.
Much of this growth is targeted at Bali of course.
There are a lot of new hotels being planned or under construction, but one has to wonder about the rest of the infrastructure to support the growth.
Naturally that includes airport facilities that are much talked about, but little changes seen.
There are also reports of the "Trans-Sarbagita bus system that was intended to start originally in 2009, but now targeting next month.
18 new busses will connect Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar etc.
All the routes, stops, schedules are set.........just no busses !!
Supposedly being fitted out currently in Jakarta, so look out for shiny new busses after february.......sometime.
Enough rambling......I have last nights Bintang consumption to work off on the bicycle.
'By for now.
